Schaeuble: Eurozone might need stronger economic policy treaties
FXStreet (Łódź) - German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble who spoke at the same conference in Paris as Christine Lagarde on Friday, stressed that monetary easing shouldn't be used to delay reform in the Eurozone and that stronger economic policy treaties may be needed in the region.
Furthermore, following his earlier remarks on his lack of opposition towards former French PM Pierre Moscovici's candidacy for EU commissioner, Schaeuble assured he trusted his colleague to do the job right. "I don't believe French are anti European," he said.
He also signaled that consumer demand was improving in Germany, but that the country needed to boost investment, especially in the internet technology sector.
