Aussie unemployment highest since July 2003 - Rabobank

FXStreet (Guatemala) - Analysts at Rabobank noted that the Australian unemployment rate unexpectedly rose back to the 6.0% level in Jun matching the highest levels since July 2003.

“While the number of people employed rose by 15.9K, full time jobs fell 3.8K”.

“Although Australian economic releases earlier in the year had surprised on the upside, investment growth (in anything other than housing) has been weak and there are concerns that the economy is failing to re-invent itself in the wake of the end of the mining investment boom”.

USD/CAD extends decline to 1.0650

The US dollar is extending its decline against its Canadian counterpart and after following a 25-pip decline from 1.0675, the USD/CAD is now testing the 1.0650 level.
