Brexit: Lawmakers approve procedure for indicative votes, Speaker Bercow selects motions

UK lawmakers have recently approved the procedure for the indicative votes on Brexit alternatives and John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons, selected motions G, E, D, and C. Earlier in the day, the Labour Party voiced its support for the motion D, so-called Common Market 2.0.

According to Reuters:

  • Motion G calls for government to revoke Article 50 as a last resort to prevent no-deal Brexit.
  • Motion E calls for confirmatory referendum to approve Brexit deal.
  • Motion D calls on government to seek an enhanced 'Norway-style' exit deal known as Common Market 2.0 deal.
  • Motion C calls on government to seek to negotiate a permanent customs union with the EU.
