EIA: Commercial crude oil inventories increased by 8 million barrels from previous week

Below are some key highlights from the weekly oil market report published by the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

  • U.S. crude oil refinery inputs averaged 17.0 million barrels per day during the week ending January 18, 2019, which was 174,000 barrels per day less than the previous week’s average. 
  • Gasoline production increased last week, averaging 9.6 million barrels per day.
  • Distillate fuel production decreased last week, averaging 5.2 million barrels per day.
  • U.S. crude oil imports averaged 8.2 million barrels per day last week, up by 664,000 barrels per day from the previous week.
  • U.S. commercial crude oil inventories increased by 8.0 million barrels from the previous week.
