USD/CAD briefly rises above 1.3400, fresh 7-month highs

 

USD/CAD rose to a fresh 7-month high during the New York session as the greenback continues to outperform other peers.

USD/CAD climbed above 1.3400 for the first time since March and struck a peak of 1.3406 before pulling back. The pair has retreated to the 1.3380 area, where it trades virtually unchanged on the day, as higher oil prices are keeping CAD losses limited.

USD/CAD levels to watch

In terms of technical levels, next  resistances could be found at 1.3406 (Oct 27 high), 1.3445 (Mar 9 high) and 1.3498 (Mar 2 high4 (200-day SMA).
