BoE: Expect no fireworks - TDS

FXStreet – Research Team at TDS, suggests that the Bank of England’s MPC meets today, and the decision will be accompanied by their quarterly Inflation Report.

“We expect no change to policy, and most likely a repeated 8-1 vote, but we can’t completely discount the chance of a dovish twist (9-0 or 1-7-1). Growth and inflation projections are likely to be revised lower for 2016, but should remain broadly similar in 2017 and 2018, which the market might interpret as hawkish. Rate cuts will almost certainly be brought up during the presser, but Carney is likely to push back on this.”

China to loosen restriction on foreign capital outflow

Living up to its commitment to further open financial markets the PboC decided to loosen rules that govern forign investors. The rules with respect to foreign investors bringing money in and moving it out of China thus can now be expected to be more relaxed. People with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg that the change would cover funds under the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor program. China has granted about $81 billion in quotas for foreign investment in domestic stocks and bonds.
