Gold retracing below $1380

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Gold has posted a fresh session low at $1374 resuming the correction started last Wednesday from above the $1430 level, following news through the weekend pointing to a prolonged wait for the US military attack on Syria.

Last at $1383, the yellow metal is down -0.83% from previous weekly close Friday, while Silver is bouncing at $23.31 from early session fresh 1-week lows at $23.05, following Oil selling off below the $105 mark.

Copper in the other hand moves higher above the $3.24 area on better than expected China manufacturing PMI data. Iron ore closed Friday marginally below the key $140 level.

Flash: Market making big bets on CAD short - HSBC

Net long USD positions increased by USD3.6bn on the week to a total long of USD15.5bn in the week ended 27 August, according to the CFTC futures positioning report, with HSBC reporting the largest shift being an increase in short CAD positions, while EUR longs increased slightly.
