US equities open negatively to start off trading week

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market started the week off negatively, unable to mount any gains as all indices pulled back amidst a busy week.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ fell -0.03% as it settles in region of 3611.46, down -1.08 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in negative territory, operating at 1688.39, descending -3.15 points or -0.18% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved lower at the opening, trading in the zone of 15518.26, presently -0.26% after a movement of -40.17 points.

Sectors are all lower at the opening, however the Energy and Telecoms sectors have distinguished themselves as the losers thus far, falling -0.64% and -0.60% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1328.66 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $19.88 per oz. Monday.

EUR/USD drops below 1.3250

The EUR/USD surrendered its intraday gains and dipped to fresh daily lows at the beginning of the American session, although it remains within its last week’s range.
