AUD/USD rises to 2-week highs

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The AUD/USD pair broke above 0.7810 and jumped to 0.7846 reaching the strongest level since February 6, to the level it had when the US January employment report was released.

So far the aussie was unable to make a bullish run above 0.7840 and currently trades at 0.7835. The pair could post the strongest close for February and the second highest weekly gain for the current year.

Last week AUD/USD bottomed at 0.7625, slightly above multi-year lows but then rebounded and the recovery continued during the current week. Yesterday the pair made a bearsih correction, but bounced at 0.7755 and resumed the upside.

NZD/USD extends gains beyond 0.7500

The New Zealand dollar remained elevated and added further gains versus the US counterpart during the European session tracing the direction of its Oz counterpart, which was boosted by S&P's AAA rating assurance.
