NZD/USD posts fresh daily highs

FXStreet (Mumbai) - The New Zealand dollar continued its upward trajectory in to the mid-European session against the US counterpart, as risk-on environment re-emerged on higher global equities.

Currently, the NZD/USD traded at 0.7814, up 0.44% on the day, close to day’s high at 0.7820 levels hit some minutes ago. The NZD/USD pair extended gains, as Fed's Charles Evans speech lifted the equities across the board sparking risk-on capital flows. The NZD/USD pair continues to mimic AUD/USD which is riding high on bullish Oz housing data. AUD/USD trades at 0.8117 levels, up 0.51% on the day.

NZD/USD Technical Levels

To the upside, the next resistance is located at 0.7851 (Dec 30 High)) and above which it could extend gains to 0.7871 (Dec 11 High) levels. To the downside, immediate support might be located at 0.7768 (Dec 30 Low) levels and below that at sub 0.7690 (Dec 23 Low) levels.

GBP/USD selloff expected below 1.50 – FXStreet

Valeria Bednarik, Chief Analyst at FXStreet, expects a break below 1.50 levels to fuel the GBP/USD selloff and send the pair lower to test 1.4940/60 levels in the short term.
