ECB up for disclosures on Monetary Policy Discussions
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The European Central Bank (ECB) announced yesterday that it will publish regular accounts of Governing Council monetary policy discussions to "provide the rationale behind monetary policy decisions", starting with the meeting on January 22, 2015. The accounts will be released four weeks after each meeting.
The bank said in a statement that the ECB will give regular accounts of monetary policy deliberations, that accounts will offer a fair and balanced reflection of policy discussions and a new six-weekly Economic Bulletin will replace Monthly Bulletin.
And with a new six-week cycle for monetary policy meetings starting in January 2015, the ECB also said that a new Economic Bulletin will be published two weeks after each meeting, thus replacing the Monthly Bulletin.
The Governing Council will have a new member from January 1.
