BoE's Carney: Volatility risk may affect pace of the normalization process
FXStreet (Łódź) - Speaking at a symposium organized by the Bank of France in Paris on Friday, BoE governor Mark Carney said that the timing of interest rate increases didn't depend on the risk of volatility.
He suggested however it could have an impact on the "the transmission of that normalization."
“We’ve emphasized the likelihood of a limited and gradual path of normalization,” Carney said.
The BoE head added that volatility would grow along with the normalization, which could cause some stir.
