AUD/USD falls below 0.8600, fresh 4-year lows
FXStreet (Córdoba) - AUD/USD extended losses and broke below 0.8600 to hit its lowest level since July 2010, undermined by broad USD strength and lower gold prices.
The Australian dollar is among the worst performers Wednesday, having pierced the 0.8600 psychological level to score a low of 0.8564 during the New York session. At time of writing, AUD/USD is trading at 0.8575, recording a 1.84% loss, its biggest single-day drop since June 19 2013.
AUD/USD levels to watch
As for technical levels, next supports are seen at 0.8564 (2014 low Nov 5) and not much until 0.8500 (psychological level). On the other hand, resistances could be found at 0.8645 (Nov 4 low), 0.8700 (psychological level) and 0.8761 (20-day SMA/Nov 5 high).
