French PM Valls visiting UK to defend pro-business policy
FXStreet (Łódź) - During the meeting with counterpart David Cameron at the London City on Monday French PM Manuel Valls complained that the British press frequently depicted French economic policy in a negative light and suggested that both countries faced similar challenges.
Valls assured that boosting economic growth and restoring competitiveness was one of the key objectives for the French government, which was prepared to implement the necessary reforms.
He suggested that France's current problems stemmed from a large number of taxes as well as from people leaving beyond their means for a long time. Shops and museum should be opened seven days a week, he stated.
Furthermore, Valls said he was happy that Scotland remained part of the UK and expressed hope UK would remain part of the EU.
